A warm welcome to the Primary Two class !

We are excited to learn and explore with the help of our friends.  We look forward to share all of our work and experiences with you!

We have settled into the new school year well, adapting to new routines that include frequent handwashing and looking after our own equipment.

Our topics are “Family” and “Dark and Light” with many of our activities and play based on these. We will explore the different members of our family and discuss what makes our families unique! We will participate in different experiments to find out the sources of light and explore all the nocturnal creatures that nature has to offer us.

This term, Primary Two will revise over their numbers to 10, proceeding to 20, through taking part in daily Mental Maths lessons, ICT games and through written Numeracy activities. We will recall how numbers are written and begin to develop our understanding into the formation of numbers by exploring the different ways in which numbers can be created in our number stories. Primary Two pupils will also be introduced to the clock and will learn about the important times of the day like lunch!

In Literacy, Primary Two will delve into classic stories like “Goldilocks and the Three Bears”, “Owl Babies” and “Why can’t you sleep little bear?” that relate to our class topics. Together we will bring the tales to life by re-enacting the events though the character’s eyes and through important discussion!  We will also continue to revise over and explore our keywords. Our pupils will decorate the classroom in lovely artwork and will have the opportunity to access some new online resources like NESSY to further our learning.
