Welcome back.....again!
8th Nov 2024
Good Evening Parents/Guardians,
I hope you and your children have enjoyed the two days off school routines, and that all are safe and well.
The St. Eugene's staff team have done an amazing amount of work and now have the Senior Site ready to accommodate all pupils on Monday. There was a huge amount of rearranging of equipment, furniture and resources to be done. We had to plan out new routines to ensure that the children can continue to enjoy school life to the full in a safe and caring environment. I cannot praise the staff of St Eugene's enough for their full-hearted effort over the last two days. They have been brilliant and have done everything in good humour - your children are in the best hands.
From Monday morning, please bring all pupils, including Nursery, into the school through the big gates on Francis St. Members of staff will be welcoming the pupils and showing them the new way of entering the school, through the side door. Nursery parents and pupils will walk across the playground and into the Nursery building as usual.
When the children are leaving school, please pick them up from the big gate on Francis St. It is safest if all parents/guardians walk around to the Francis St gate and wait inside to collect the pupils so that they are not walking out to a busy street by themselves. They will be brought to the playground by their teachers and handed over to parents from there.
Children in both our SEN classes will enter and leave by the front door of the Senior Site.
Our wraparound Breakfast Club and Homework Club will run as normal from Monday
From now on, the children will be allowed to come to school dressed in P.E. clothes on their P.E. day, as our changing facilities are limited. Please ensure that the children wear their school jumper over their P.E. tops on their P.E. day also.
Many thanks for your ongoing support and co-operation. This was not an easy week for our community, but as always we worked together and came through the difficulties, and we can already see that there will be added benefits for the children in our new situation.
We are looking forward to seeing all the little ones back in school on Monday morning.
Yours sincerely,
Mrs Duffy
